With Realm and to a lesser degree Dwell and the other student accom in front of Realm, I don’t think this will stand out too hard.
Totally agree about the stark white horizontal lines against the dark glazing. Floor to ceiling glass against the white would have looked better but so far it’s promising. Fingers crossed.

I'm all there for this to be more beautiful than its neighbour. My only "aesthetic" hesitation is how the two towers standing so closely side by side might look a bit imbalanced on the skyline, but it's a nice problem to have I guess
I'm looking forward to that, Adelaide is a city where the taller buildings stand alone, having a couple right next to each other will be a different sight.

What else is going up in this area? There’s the Adelaide Uni student accom which based off of the early renders looked fantastic. And that real skinny building going across from these two. The north-east skyline will look fantastic.

After this building goes up there's not much else on the horizon. That east terrace building called momentum appears to be dead.

Quick shot to show how this is shaping up next to the surrounding buildings:

Nice photo. The glazing and that grey colouring makes It look pretty similar to the first stage of the GPO development.

How would this building affect the views of this
https://www.realestate.com.au/property- ... -133915570 apartment? It's in the north-east corner on level 25. $1.1m and your view from bedroom 2 and 3 is 10 - 15m (over the pool 15 floors below) is of some random student eating noodles naked lol.

You would imagine the following view would be seriously curtailled:

If we want a taller city, people will have to get used to not having uninterrupted views.

I just find it poor planning by Adeladean to not buy the corner plot, I understand views aren't guaranteed but developers choose blocks to maximise profits, so you build opposite parks, next to heritage etc. Adelaide is surrounded by parks, yet our tallest buildings have views of an other building 100m in the air!

I really have to sit on the fence with this issue of a blocked view, only in the case of this building in particular. In general though, I have no sympathy for someone complaining about it.
On one side, the developer has most likely marketed these apartments with the views available from Adelaide's newest tallest building. Just my personal preference, but i'd prefer the northern view if living in one of these. Others may prefer a view to the hills or the coast. But if the developer was so concerned, maybe they should've bought the building that was demolished for the student tower. The one saving grace I guess, is the tower being set back from the podium on the north. Perhaps it was done for this very reason.
On the other side, we can't be preventing other developers from building what they want because it may block the views from another building. I mean, if you want to see a blocked view, check out the student tower just completed on the western side of Wingfold tower. I can't recall hearing any complaints from them?
Adelaide is also a very large CBD area-wise. If it was say, half the size, the skyline would inevitably be taller and more dense than it is now. From a purely skyline-nerd aesthetic point of view, I would've much preferred this student tower to be built elsewhere. Grenfell, Pirie or Currie would've been ideal. But that's not really living in the real world

Didn’t the Adelaidian developer try and purchase the building on the corner and was turned down, some years back when they first purchased the land for their development? I can inderstand their frustration.
It may sound juvenile but had Adelaidian turned out to be quality, I would sympathise more. Though I understand that’s not the fault of the buyers.

Honestly some of you need to chill.
The Adelaidean is fine.

FFS, so any developer that wants to build in the CBD should spend a lazy $30 to $50 million on the building next door to ensure no views are obstructed ???
