I said it's under construction to me earlier but now that I've thought about it, any demolition still means SWP. Perhaps once the crane is up then we can say under construction.

What drugs are you on? You make the most random absurd posts which aren't even remotely funny.
Thank you, someone else has now noticed.

Hasn't a new structure / core box looking thing gone up on the old Rhino Room site? True there's no crane on site as yet but looks like a very active construction going on to me either side of the carpark driveway.

I'd look at it this way.
Let's imagine they go bust right now and everything stops and the site sits in limbo for 10 years.
Would we in 10 years time look at the site and say "there is the partially constructed Adelaidean"? or would we look at it like the North Adelaide Le-Cornu site and say "there's the empty block that was intended for _______"?
Right now I think it would be the latter, so technically not yet UC.

I beg to differ. The definition supplied is
U/C: Under Construction
- actual building progress is being made
A building structure on site (albeit unclear as to exactly what it is) has been constructed, there is no reason to believe it is not part of the main structure as it is within the bounds of the construction site, therefore U/C seems the right description to me.

It's very unusual how this project being constructed at the moment. One half is basically a construction site, whilst the other half is a demolition site. Smack bang in the middle is a roadway. I think for now, it's best to leave it at SWP.
Btw with Dwell crane's increased height, it gives you a very good indication of the sheer impact Adelaidean will have on the skyline. In particular you can see the crane from the western end of Rundle Mall.

I could definitely be wrong, but there was basically no footings work done for the structure that has been built - I would be extremely surprised if it was part of the base for a 37 storey building.

Wont keep quoting previous posts as it's getting a bit long. Re the last comment though, they previously dug down a good two metres here and there is a significant pile, amongst a number of others already set, right in the middle of the floor inside the structure. Will try to get a photo at some stage.

I still believe this constitutes construction but not attached to the idea. Now my question is "What IS this?

That makes me want to say “under construction” too. Yeah what is it?

Looking at the plans below, it's a stairwell for the podium section.
As the full height tower is located above the section currently being demolished and just over the car park access, full height structural piling would not have commenced. I'm assuming it will do once the site is clear.
As the stairwell is part of the podium proper, I feel this can be classified as U/C.
