Maybe change title to under construction :)

There is a model of this development in an empty store in front of China Town on Grote st. Looks decent.

The site is all cleared now and when I drove past I could not belive how big the site is. This project is massive. Be great if we could get some pictures. this will transform gouger St in a major way!

It would, but those two tyre shops, both on adjacent corners of Gouger and Morphett, are a bit of an impediment to the flow of the restaurant strip. It's nothing that can't be overcome but it makes it a little difficult for the few restaurants past there to get noticed at the moment. It'd be great to see something a bit more in synch with the east end of Gouger Street on those corners. That, as much as anything would really open up the west end of Gouger to more activity.

Dunno about that ... when it's closed the one on the south-west corner is a carpark for the restaurants. ;)
Exit on the right in the direction of travel.

This one now has a name...

Merc on Gouger - I guess that is a reference to BEA.
There is this render to go with it. I guess she is really happy that she lives in Merc on Gouger...

There is also a website to go with it showing some floorplans. I have to say that some of those apartments look quite spacious.

Maybe she's saying "There's something really ugly they're planning to build just behind my head. Don't peek!!"

It looks more like she has escaped from Block D of a Russian housing complex,... and she's bloody happy about it!! Let's hope the real thing has a better street appeal than this render, after all we are still talking about enhancing the appearance of the City, and this sort of building leaves a lot to be desired.

Have a look at the location part of their website. The River Torrens looks like the Blue Lake in Mt Gambier.

Reasonable development there. However... just looking over the brochures of Merc and that of COH... seems like there's a bit of plagiarism going on.

Oh, I didn't know they were refurbishing the hotel. I thought it was just an add-on to the back.
Well, here's hoping :D

Thanks for the scoop, Urban.
