Forgotten the name of it - the back of the car park on North Terrace, behind Alpha Apartments. Taken Friday night.

The yellow tower crane on the Light Square office building is also gone.

We are back to having only 5 cranes on our skyline :(

Cover the car park, cover it!

Remember when spazpecker started talking pikey shits about a 99m resi on that corner? Those were the days.

But seriously, something needs to go there, that pink building is a disgrace.

Do you people remember Opalfield House? it is that ugly 1960's yellow and brown tiled building next to Hooker House on King William Street.

Well it is getting a massive makeover, and here is what it will look like when complete (as part of the makeover, 2 extra levels will be added to the current structure)

The new Opalfield House:

Yeah I have seen this one in the commercial real estate sections of the paper of late. It is a good improvement. I think someone mentioned it a while back too. With Adelaide's much higher level of older/out-dated commercial buildings compared to other capitals we should expect more re-furbs in the future. These landlords have to keep up now with so many moves to new A grade buildings by many companies. Old 60's/70's exteriors and interiors just don't fit well with corporate images anymore :D Adelaide is in a situation where we never went quiet as full on into the 80's boom like other capitals such as Perth and therefore considering population size and improvements in our economic postion now we are a bit underdone in the office area category, hence a bit of a boom now. Don't get me wrong though we did still go into 80's boom-mode but it was nothing compared to some cities in Australia at the time.

It's a nice little redevelopment, considering what they had to work with. In reality, they'll never get it looking brilliant.... because it's right next door to Hooker House Image

The scaffolding is coming off Admiral house (KPMG) revealing some interesting blue grey elements, especially when viewed from the west.

Looking good!
