New York-style lofts go 'beyond' compact city dwelling

SLEEK LIFE: Artist's impressions of the new apartment complex design on Flinders St. Pictures supplied
CITY LIVING: New York-style loft apartments - part of a $16 million housing development on Flinders St - have gone on sale.
Flinders Loft will covert a ‘90s office block into 18 one-, two- and three-bedroom boutique apartments, with high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and open-plan living areas. Guava Lime Property Solutions director Michael Loucas said there was strong demand from Adelaide buyers for high-quality, design-focused dwellings in the city.
“We need to deliver innovative and inspiring accommodation options that go far beyond the standard high-density, compact-apartment living,” Mr Loucas said.
He said the finished building would have considerable green credentials, and residents would have an electric pool car and foldaway bikes at their disposal.
The building’s ground floor will have a village feel with a cafe or organic shop and outdoor dining.
One-bedroom apartments start from $365,000
Yes judging by the render that "partially invisible section" will be utilising a cloaking device, it will be the first building in Australia to use this technology. The finish is much improved in the new render. Good to see some texture in there. The partially invisible section is quite clever too.
