Increase height by how much? for additional levels or other reasons?

I couldn't see the answer anywhere here but for those (like me) who were interested, after perusing the DAC register I read that the height increase was 70cm (yes, cm). Still quite the tall building for that area.

Yes. I'm very grateful that companies that seem to know how to design, market and build are involved in these significant buildings which actually make an impact on the city. I've got my fingers crossed that the companies involved in Kodo also prove equally effective given the mooted second tower if all goes well on the sales front.

I know it's complex, expensive and time-consuming to build large buildings but when you see how Vue and now seemingly Bohem are doing - in the same market conditions and under the same regulations as others - it does make you ask some questions of others... obviously New Mayfield has had a series of presumably unpredictable issues relating to the company collapse and (I think) major infrastructure works required nearby but still...

That is one bulky building. Its facade is a bit busy. Certainly quite a difference to the stock standard glass boxes Adelaide too often gets. Good on the developer behind this one and Vue for experimenting with different building forms.

It does look very busy, i hope its just the render that makes it look bulky. In person the site doesn't seem that wide, and the render seems to look larger as it grows toward the top!

If you suspect a render looks a bit wrong, remember a thing about perspective. Vertical lines are always vertical. Only horizontal lines converge towards a vanishing point.

If you look at that render, you can see the vertical lines converge on a point way below the image. This means that the perspective has been messed with. This is something that we are seeing a lot recently and I can't understand why developers have this done.

It's an optical illusion. All vertical lines are straight and running parallel to each other. No converging. The pods give the impression the top of the building leans out. A good looking rendering to me.

Actually doesn't this depend on the purpose of the render ? If it's to depict the object in engineering terms, then yes everything should be parallel and no converging. But if the render is intended to give the reader an impression of how it 'looks', i.e. to project a 'true' view of the scene as if you were standing somewhere and looking at it, then there should actually be converging. Just think of looking down Rundle Mall, the buildings, the street, the lamps, all converge in your view but not in reality. Or think about standing at the foot of a large tower, looking up. It will give you the impression of convergence....
