Union St could be a great street if it wasn't for that bloody car park. Even if they just pulled the parks in just a tad, so you could get a row of small shops in behind the heritage facade. The carpark even does double duty, as it does a number on Frome St as well.

Corner of Morphett Street. This would be welcome height for this area. I wonder what the value of the build is, because if it stays with the ACC, I would say they would reduce the height.

The council is pro height on the terraces at least in rhetoric. But with residents in that quarter already miffed and mobilised about other developments, you'd hope certain councillors resist the temptation to heroise themselves. Although, it's probably all moot, as I expect it'll be more than $10 m, and besides, the development plan allows it.

But back to the proposal: it's wonderful news! That's a fairly unimpressive entry to the city as it stands, so it'd be nice to see it built up, as is happening already with Hutt Street.

that entire section of morphett st between south terrace and whitmore square needs some serious attention. some pretty rundown and sad looking buildings in the vicinity. hopefully this development kickstarts a mini-renewel of the area.

there has already been a mini revival of Whitmore Square after the new low energy apartments were built, and the new cafe on ground level is a hit with it always full of hispters. 5-10 years ago that square was awful and full of some quite undesirable people, now its completely changed. And another quirky cafe has opened up just over on Sturt Street - cant quite remember name but something to do with a donkey, looks a bit cool as I went past the other day

There's a building going on the western side of King William Street near Rundle Mall...
not sure if there's a thread or if it's mentioned already?

This has gone up fast and has already topped out.

Nice improvement compared to previous vacant site.

A $15 million medical centre with a state-of-the-art chemotherapy centre will be built on the vacant block on the corner of Hutt St and South Tce.

Site developer the Cambridge Group has announced the development will be leased by St Andrew's Hospital.

The three-storey St Andrew's Medical Centre will include specialists' consulting rooms, a pharmacy and pathology labs.

The site, which has sat vacant since a surgery was demolished about 10 years ago, has been earmarked for several developments in the past, including residential apartments in 2004 and offices in 2005.

The project's proponents are hoping the development will be a catalyst for further street development and improve the gateway to the city.

St Andrew's Hospital chief executive Stephen Walker said the centre would help strengthen the south-east corner as a medical hub.

"It means we can provide a cancer service to the South Australian community into the future,'' he said.

The medical centre is set to be completed by mid 2013
Excavation started this week, so site works are in progress.

There was an application for a 4th level which can be seen a few pages back. What you think is the roof is actually the slab for the last floor.
