yes it's just up from Church. I was excited at first because I thought we might finally get rid of that disgusting place but it wasn't to be. Maybe this will entice them to atleast upgrade it.

Thanks for the clarification pants...
Beamer looks like that's the render from 2004.
So let me get this straight, if this is globe.. they initially applied at 16 levels, got knocked back, reapplied for 10 levels, then withdrew.. and now have come back with 15 levels? Sounds good !

Yeah, that's the original proposal guys. If I remember correctly, Cheesman Architects designed that one, so if I'm right, expect something different this time around.

Thanks for the info Beamer.
This development is designed for the site where the Globe Apartment building was meant to go. The original Globe apartments were a 16 level, 50m structure, proposed by PT Building Services back in 2003. Back then, the ACC had much lower height restrictions than what it currently has. At 50m the original Globe apartments were way above the old 28m height restriction. The original application was thus rejected. A fresh application was made for a 10 level building, however that application was withdrawn before being presented to the ACC DAP.
In the meantime, the ACC has increased its height restrictions throughout the CBD, and now I think the height restriction in that oart of the CBD is 40m. At 15 levels this building should be within the 45m range, and based upon other decisions, being such a few metres above the height restriction should prove no barrier to development approval being granted.

Provided it doesn't look anything like that awful design above, good to hear this is back on the cards.
