Re: Common sense on the roads of Adelaide
The only bad driving habit that I think is an "only in Adelaide" thing is people being crazily defensive of their lanes. Generally in the east in heavy traffic if you indicate to change lanes, the car next to you will back off and let you in and we all get on with it. In Adelaide the car ...

[COM] Re: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment - General Discussion Thread
How about just "The Oval" ?
There are no other famous stadiums with the word "Oval" in the country, right?
PS "The Oval" sounds so schoolyard!

Re: #PRO: Port Adelaide Tram | #COM: Entertainment Centre Tr
I personally think that the number of lights on North Terrace is ridiculous. It's not the number that's ridiculous, it's the lack of priority given to trams. Agreed. Funny though that if the trams had more priority the number of traffic lights could potentially drop - which seems like a good thing ...

Re: #PRO: Port Adelaide Tram | #COM: Entertainment Centre Tr
PS now that i think about it why ar there no zebra crossings in adelaide? Every other city in the country seem to utilise them? Because we have major traffic-lighted intersections with very little distance between to warrant zebra crossings as well. My last comment was not referring to North Terrac...

Re: #PRO: Port Adelaide Tram | #COM: Entertainment Centre Tr
You know what i am sick to death of in Adelaide, people jaywalking right in front of the tram, especially at the Victoria Square tram stop where if people actually looked there are pedestrian lights for their safety, where is the authority to catch the criminals who are not only putting their lives...

Re: VIS: Tram on O'Connell St and Prospect Rd
I think these roads are comparable to Clarendon st in South Melbourne. Perhaps something similar to what is in place there, which is basically hook turns for the most part and reducing the number of right hand turns - possibly by implementing some one way streets.

Re: RE: Anticipated drop in international Students Numbers
Most students live as close as possible to their school or university. So there's no real "indian suburb" or anything like that. Some of my indian friends who i work with live in east brighton (a very nice part of town) and others live in Sunshine (not so nice) melbourne is a bit different...

RE: Anticipated drop in international Students Numbers
Just quickly thought i'd make a small point re the title above. The topic came up in a CBD development thread but i thought id start this topic here so as to not get too off-topic. I live in melbourne these days, and the constant news about "indian/racial bashings" is endless. Just when it...

The Southern Star
On my last visit to adelaide just this past weekend, i drove past the Southern Star Observation Deck at Docklands whilst driving to Tullamarine Airport. After opening sometime earlier this year for approximately 1 month, it has been closed with no re-open date set yet. The Closure was due to structu...

Melbourne's West Gate and M1 Upgrade
A huge upgrade of the M1 and West gate bridge is underway in melbourne, with the bulk of the work happening at the Montague st interchange in south melbourne right near my workplace. So much is happening and it's so hard to tell where these giant roads are leading to when you're driving along the cu...
