Re: #UC: Adelaide metropolitan water pipeline interconnects
When there's no line marking in the merging section the car in front has right of way. If there are line markings (dotted line), the terminating lane has to give way.

Re: My Vision (zoning, dev, transportation,..)
Interesting thoughts - I agree with most of them. However, your theories on public transport are incorrect. Trams can be held up by traffic just as much as (perhaps even more than) buses. You can generally get a grade-separated busway with much higher frequency services at a significantly cheaper co...

[COM] Re: General Rundle Mall Development & Progress Thread
If there is enough demand from shoppers for shops to be able to make a profit on public holidays, even while paying 2.5 or triple time, surely they should be able to open? I have plenty of uni student friends working in retail, and every single one of them would love to be able to make $50 an hour w...

Re: NBN News & Updates
So, by September next year, construction work would have commenced on sites passing 485,100 properties out of 13,000,000 properties. So, only 12,514,900 properties left to have construction commence on a site that passes them. We're 3.73% through with construction commencing. Wow. Just wow. http://...

Jim! Howya Doin' Buddy? Wow $13billion for that hospital now? Who woulda thunk? Imagine the freeway we could have! Re: Adelaide Level Crossing Removal Thread
I agree that it would be a nice thing to work towards, but I'd hate to see money taken out of the public transport budget to fund projects like this that only help road users. For the cost of those dozen grade separations, you could probably double the size of Adelaide's bus fleet.

[COM] Re: U/C: Rundle Place Ben/Adel Bank, Harris Scarfe, Coles 72
As far as I know, the new Coles at Rundle Mall will supercede the one at Central Market arcade. Furthermore, a Foodland will open in the former location after its 50th birthday celebrations in October 2012. I'd be surprised if Coles closed their Central Market store, it seems to do pretty well and ...

Re: Vision : Adelaide Train Tram System
It seems inevitable that the Belair line will be converted to light rail sooner or later, but I still strongly believe that such a route should run down Pulteney Street/Unley Road and rejoin the Belair line from Mitcham Station onwards to the Belair terminus. This seems like a bad idea to me. Curre...

Just how do you think they are going to power the trams if there is no overhead, duracells ? exactly like that, the technology already exists to allow trams to run without overhead. But it isnt the overhead that is the issue here, it's the rails, at the moment they're standard width on the light-ra...

Re: Mawson Lakes - Not just another suburb
having a look at the interchange - it appears to be in the perfect spot for the area ? what would be good would be a tram service around the development ending at the interchange and the town centre  I doubt feeder services in Mawson Lakes need the capacity of a tram. Buses can do the same ...

If people are willing to buy small apartments, why not let them? For a single guy, a 30m2 studio apartment is plenty of room. It's a good way of allowing young people to get their first home in the city, rather than way out in the suburbs.

The new design is an epic fail anyway, it has no vision, It is not reinstating the square, look all they had to do was close off Grote Street, I couldn't give a tinkers cuss about arbors. Lets hope it never gets funding, then we can wait another 50 years until the ACC grow some bollocks, or at leas...
