This is the crane that replaced the crawler crane on the river bank side of the project.

Does this qualify for the CBD crane count? Thoughts?

I would say no, its a self erecting crane that isn't fixed. I'd say only tower cranes should count in the tally.

This has been looking like porn for structural engineers for a while. They have now started cladding with glass installed at the front of the lower level and a coating now being applied on the section between levels. It seems to have an adhesive paper coating the underlying material which has a yellow colour shows on the some edges.

Here are some picture of the cladding and the glazing as at 10 Mar 2016. This building already looks infinitely better than stage 2 with its awkward angles.

I drove over the Morphett St bridge yesterday, that's exactly what I thought.

Echoing what others have said, the wall and roof cladding will make or break this building. It could look fantastic or really awkward.

Oh yeh this is going to look good, good shot too EBG compliments the bridge.

I already prefer it to Stage 2, more glass means it relates better to the original (central) building.

It's meant to be clad with some sort of brown sheeting, yeah? It'll be interesting to see how that goes. Right now, the silver and glass is making it look pleasingly harmonious with the main convention building.

A progress update as at Sat 2/4/2106. Cladding has been added to the eastern side (towards the festival centre). PS I hope all these new gum trees along the river banks don't get too big, (see also picture from 19 th Mar).

I wonder if it's deliberate, but this extension appears to reference the Festival Centre, look at the angular roof line.
