I'm still not in love with the building, but its is turning out better than I imagined-especially viewed from the angle of Andys photos. It is also creating the start of a nice little cluster on this corner, and if only the whole block on the other side on the Budget corner could get up, that would really create some bulk for this area.

This photo gives that part of the city a very different vibe/feel.Plasmatron wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2020 10:54 amGuess who popped into town after work last Friday? (30/10/2020)

If the freemasons building was fixed up and had a modern glass tower on top, would not strike anyone as being Adelaide imo.

From level 19 of Crowne Plaza on Thursday:

You can see this poking up on the skyline from the Torrens Weir now. The skyline from that vantage has completely changed in the last 5 years, and still with 203 North Terrace to come.

My same thoughts. That Wilson car park is horrendous and has to go pronto.

It's a shame the collapse of higher education funding probably means UoA's plans for a tower thereabouts are shot.

The building companies such as Synergy must be disappointed with this unnecessary lockdown. Three stagnant days where the site bleeds money paying for equipment which it leases. The 2022 election cannot come quickly enough.

Saw this render on the synergy page. I hadn’t previously seen it before.

Interesting but odd find. This doesn't look 15 metres shorter than Adelaidean, especially given the ground level slopes down towards the north.
Also, the dev plan really needs to change to force roof top plant rooms to be screened behind the main façade or other treatment (like this building initially did with its original crown). It ruins the skyline view.

That would surely piss off those in the top 15 metres of Adelaidean.SRW wrote: ↑Sat Nov 21, 2020 11:58 amInteresting but odd find. This doesn't look 15 metres shorter than Adelaidean, especially given the ground level slopes down towards the north.

The "unnecessary" lockdown appears to be stopping South Australia from replacing Victoria as the national hotspot of COVID-19. I take it that Victorian construction continued unabated during their shutdown? We've had less than a week of tighter shutdowns to avoid more extended restrictions.
