Just like how peeps were freaking out about the Switch and it turned out not to be that bad : )

Nope sorry that is very bit as bad as we thought. As bad as dwell and the cheese block on way mouth? Not quite but but still awful. I’d much rather not have these in our skyline tbh. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
I hope that out of this construction ‘boom’ we get a picker/strict on what we approve.

I like the Switch more than this development. At least the Switch looked tall, this looks stumpy.

I think this has turned out great, especially considering it is student accommodation. Plus for once the renders were pretty much spot on - I expected this to look much cheaper in real life but pleasingly that didn't eventuate. It is a shame they deleted the crown feature from the upper floor as per the original design as I think that would have helped to tie the upper levels in with the podium but it's still light years ahead of Switch and Dwell design and finish-wise. Even the removal of the full-height glazing hasn't really detracted too much from the overall appearance.
Here's a reminder of the original proposal - arguably better but I'm still not disappointed with what we ended up with.

lol, reminds me of the other stump we have. At least 269 NT is a bit taller though.

Arguably Adelaide’s most timeless highrise building. Great example of the international architectural style.VinyTapestry849 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 12, 2021 11:04 amlol, reminds me of the other stump we have. At least 269 NT is a bit taller though.

The Switch is awful.
Our state, our city, our future.
