It's not necessarily crappy, it's just rundown, cleaned up and I think it would have made for a great frontage for whatever ends up on the site.

I would have liked to see the facade retained too. Here she was exactly one hundred years ago. A sad end.

Can't see anything on PlanSA, I'm guessing an open air carpark for the time being?

Correct - the council have been pushing them to demolish forever, and this was the easiest solution. They are still in talks about doing a development here, apparently with their architects currently. Same developer as The Vision on Morphett - so understandably a bit apprehensive to jump back into development.
