Instead of wood what would (ehe..) you like to see more of? Glass, plastics, aluminium, steel, etc.? I think wood is perfect as it is mostly natural. You'll see more glass and steel fixtures in this building. Not sure if there are other renderings of the areas in proximity of the cafe (ground floor, mezzanine, etc.), but the architect would have them for sure. Maybe someone should ask?

Cheers

It's not the materials used. It the way they've been put together. From that render it looks like a post modern contrasting mish mash of stuff with no attempt to harmonise between the components. That's a huge design no no.

Artistic impressions are not reality. You'll have to wait and see.

Like I said above; "Considering that the picture is a frankenstien render of a three dimensional space, I'm hoping that the real thing will work better."

They haven't put the cladding up yet there. I think that blue material is insulation. External works have really slowed as they have focused on internal works lately. The garden area adjacent the church has recently been closed off, I believe this is getting upgraded too. Thanks for all the pics Norman.

Hi guys,

I've been plugging some developments to Australian National Construction Review publication (http://ancr.com.au/), and i'm happy to say that SA Water (VS1), Thomson Playford Building and KWS will be featured in the next edition.

:) Thanks to our dear friend Sarah Giles editor at ANCR.

Cheers

Samaras heavy crane was in the fenced garden area today, about 1:30pm, & signage has been applied on the St Aloysius College building
in Angas Street; finished product looks good.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but in the image of the ground floor cafeteria posted by Will from Hansen & Yunken, the curved (more like egg-shaped) area above on the mezzanine floor is where the education centre will be located.
