[COM] Re: 11-27 Frome Street | 134m & 75m | 36 & 21 Levels

Ben was close to bang on with the 120m estimate. Going by the plans the height to roof is around 119m then the lift core/plant takes it to 134m. It's uncommon for lift/plant to be included in overall building height unless it has bulk or is architectural feature so here's hoping it gets some good t...

[COM] Re: 11-27 Frome Street | ~120m & 70m | 36 & 21 Levels

The Indaily article mentioned that Council would vote to begin the process to make Travistock Lane a public road. I doubt the Developer would scrap a 250M project if the hotel drop off couldn't be accommodated within the lane. The Developer would simply revert to providing drop off on Frome Street o...

Re: News: Adelaide City Council

And from another rate payer, perhaps the ACC is using the money to offest the rise from what they collect in council rates when you DO NOT receive a rebate when you are are denied ACC bins and made to use the strata group bins for even a block of 25 apartments (even thought Halifax St is littered wi...

Re: Official CBD Crane Counter Thread - 10

The crane at Franklin Street is still half complete. Mast is assembled but no A-frame, jibs, cab or boom to be seen yet. You cant install the jib, cabin and counter jib during the week, you need a complete street closure... however you can lift the tower sections during the day within the site, fai...

Well, hang on guys. Is this a case of you're only seeing what you expect to see? Will wrote two statements: 1. Unfortunately one of the reasons cited is that the building is too tall and will clash with the majestic pyrammid concept for the skyline. 2. Furthermore, the vast expanses of plain glass ...

ACC will replace the trees with semi matures... at the developers cost as usual... they just dont replace them in summer due to the heat, even though these tree are super hard wearing, they dont like being transfered from the plantations during the hotter months.

VERY promising. With an awning (hinted at before) even more impressive. I agree that the rivets could enhance the appearance rather than just be a distractive attachment. [COM] Re: #U/C: 374-400 King William St | 47m | 11lvls | Office

This method of positioning a crane in the centre of a building is quite a common one. Very common in high density areas where there is minimal room around a site to place a tower crane. Once the crane is no longer required for use they remove it from the top with use of a mobile crane or a second t...

Looks more like a crane pad than the lift core... think this site will get a tower crane (hammerhead) instead of a Favco... to service both sites

They would have been designed to stand in that way... I would assume a N1 wind classification for this area... a quick check, structures 101 assumes a 1 in 25/50 yr wind load worst case would be more than sufficent
