Race to the top? Only one has backdoor approvals and is actually being built. The other is waiting for something to happen.

[U/C] Re: Burnside Village (Extension)

Does Burnside (or Adelaide) have enough money for Prada? Or Balenciaga?

That entire corner and extending to Greenhill Road leaves a lot to the imagination.

Maybe their intent is fake 'windows' (backlit from behind). That's about all that could be delivered at the moment, based on what's constructed.

[PRO] Re: 81 South Terrace | ~53m | 15 Levels | Hotel

What a bizarre proposal.

Council haven't included any of the architectural plans. Am I missing something?

How could one conceivably lodge a representation if they wanted to?

It would be baseless without the plans drawn by Nic.

I foresee re-notification in the very near future.

Whoops!

Chimneys are down. Interesting.

This was one of the main parts of contention to getting Local Heritage support.

Maybe we'll see some concrete flues go up to replace them

Calling it now: this will be one of our finest high-rise buildings in the City.

It will be very interesting to see who they tenant at ground level - this is currently an area which could currently attract top-level tenants; but the area is changing very rapidly.

We're 24 months off having CMAR ...

[SWP] Re: Festival Plaza Tower 2 | 160m | 38 Levels | Office

You do realise that the core of the CBD is a 5 minute walk from the tower, to Rundle, VIC square, central market etc. Saying these towers will remove traffic for businesses in the CBD is just not true. All the students from Flinders uni in Festival Tower 1 go back and forth between the CBD ...

Brilliant photo!

Huge earthworks to resize and realign the oval - let alone the new facility.

Really puts into perspective how many of the trees are going to be wiped out by the T2D works.

If you don't understand how development actually happens, you'd definitely be aloof to timtam's post.

This is a significant acquisition and one can only hope maintains the overall vision for the project (or improves upon it).

The "NIMBYs" are right. 20 storeys is completely and utterly inappropriate for this site. 8 levels or so, yes.
Is this height better in Kent Town?

It is a photograph.

[APP] Re: Masonic Lodge | 183m | 37 Levels | Mixed Use

This development won't happen.

Pure and simple.

It has zero economic sense.

There will be quotes around "construction costs" and a "key anchor tenant/operator" who has pulled out - and the thing dies.

You can use these fabricated quotes in months to come.

Swordmaster Davis will wave his wand ...
