Makris should pay for a decent architect, then he might have a chance. The last design was appallingly kitsch and did not relate to the site and adjacent streetscape. Why on earth were they using a kiwi architect firm? The site planning was wasteful. A good architect should be able to bring that am...

I think an international design competition is a great idea. Having outsiders formulate a cohesive plan for the parklands free off politics and whinging social conservatives will open up this city's eyes to the unrealised potential of the parklands. There was an international design competition for ...

To see F1 one would be fantastic. I agree with many of your proposals and think the best option would be to combine the F1 and V8 as they used to do. One of the reasons the Adelaide F1 race was considered so good was the array of support races that were organised around the F1 event. V8s have begun ...

I think turning the plaza into something like Fed Square is a fantastic idea. It would get numbers down to the festival theatre precinct and there would then be a reason to put cafes/restaurants/bars down by the river. Elder park is great but the whole festival centre precinct is so underutilised an...

I'm 26 and was fortunate to have travelled quite a bit overseas as a child to visit family who are placed all around the globe. I don't think you should underestimate the effect such travel will have on your children, I still recall much of my travels and more importantly these excursions have had a...

Mate it is a great course. It looks mainly at the theory sides of the construction industry and the management skills required. There is some amount of technical learning involved but when you team this degree up with the actual industry, your knowledge is 10 Fold and everything you have learnt bec...

Thanks mate, I'm gonna look around and see what postgraduate degrees are offered. I know there is a Graduate Diploma and Masters in Project Management so maybe I'll end up doing something like that. I'm hoping to find some sort of practical experience somewhere in the meantime though as I'd like a b...

Thanks AG. I'm considering doing something like you mention, after 5 years of study though it isn't so appealing at the moment. I'm likelytaking a job in Brisbane with a large roofing company which will give me some intial experience in construction and project management and after a year I'll proba...

I think the carpark above Hungry Jacks is a good, rational, utilitarian building. Having said that, I think either proposal would be fantastic. The execution of the floating box would obviously require some real finesse for it to be truly successful.
